I like that Taijiquan gives me so much energy.
“Ask yourself what problem you have right now. Not next year, tomorrow or five minutes from now. You can always cope with the now, but you can never cope with the future. Nor do you have to. The answer, the strength and the right action will be there when you need it. Not before or after.”
- Eckhart Tolle
Taijiquan is widely known to help with PMT which is good news for me.
It is known that a Teacher who talks endlessly about Qi probably knows nothing at all.
Taijiquan is more than Qi. It requires a deep understanding of human skeletal mechanics.
I am saddened when I finish a Taijiquan class having just copied the Teacher all night. This is just following and it is not teaching. I read an article by which said that such methods are poor and would not be accepted in mainstream teaching i.e. a School or University. Leading is not teaching.
“A man who has attained mastery of an art reveals it in his every action.”
- Gogen Yamaguchi
I love Wushu but I know it is not Gong-fu. Most people cannot tell the difference. Taijiquan is prone to the same problems with most classes teaching a Wushu-esque version such as Beijiing 24-step or similar and not the actual martial art.
Taijiquan is about the completion of the self.
